Welcome Jeff Grossman to the Blogsquad
It takes a bit of a leap to go from writing about jump shots and sacking the quarterback to designing composite wind blades and managing the fasteners for an airframe assembly, but the newest member of our blog squad has done just that. His name is Jeff Grossman.
Jeff came to Siemens PLM Software when it acquired Vistagy (now known as the Specialized Engineering Software business segment) last December. As the corporate communications manager, he worked with Vistagy’s product experts and executives to convey stories about the products (Fibersim, Syncrofit and Quality Planning Environment) and our customers. By contrast, Jeff spent the first five years of his career as sports writer, four of them for the San Antonio Express-News, primarily focused on covering the San Antonio Spurs of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Between his time at the Express-News and Vistagy, Jeff worked in marketing for software companies that specialized in information security, document management and database management. Jeff has a master’s degree in business administration from Boston University and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
We are looking forward to hearing more from Jeff as he keeps readers apprised of what is going on in Specialized Engineering Software. Welcome Jeff to the blog!

Today we’re pleased to introduce three new product versions from the Specialized Engineering Software business segment of Siemens PLM Software. Vistagy, which was acquired by Siemens PLM Software on December 7, 2011, developed these products and will release them on April 3, 2012.
Fibersim 2012 Composites Engineering Software helps reduce risk throughout the aerospace, automotive, wind energy and marine industries by optimizing the design and manufacture of innovative, durable and lightweight composite structures.

Syncrofit 2012 is the only production-proven, CAD-integrated, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solution for managing the complexities of airframe assemblies.

Quality Planning Environment (QPE) 2012, enables major aerospace original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and suppliers to automate the process of identifying engineering characteristics and automatically incorporating them in quality plans for first article inspection.
