Last week saw many Femap users converging on Cincinnati for the first Femap Symposium at the Marriott at RiverCenter in Covington. After a welcome and registration event on the evening of June 26th, the symposium started in earnest the following morning. The proceedings began with a fascinating account of the loads that the Mars Rover Curiosity had to endure during its journey to Mars, particularly through the entry, descent and final landing phases, from keynote speaker Darlene Lee of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
Mark Sherman, head of Femap development, continued with a review of the recent Femap releases and shared some insight on things to come in the roadmap. The day continued in two tracks covering:
