HP’s 3D Display and Color Printing Without Those Goofy Glasses

It looked like an optical illusion. I met briefly with Brian Armstrong of HP to find out what they were showcasing in their partner booth at PLM Connection. I was looking at a big screen displaying a camshaft from an NX window. It looked like it was jumping right our of the screen. No need for 3D glasses. See my video interview with Brian to learn more:

Even more compelling was the 3D color printer they had in their booth – cutting parts right there at the conference. Check out the video to see it in action:

Since Brian mentioned Service Lifecycle Management in our interview I wanted to find out a little more about it. Here is a presentation Markus Brandis from HP gave at the event. He noted SLM is the final step in the PLM process. Slides 11-12 give a good overview.
